La Chaise Lounge Chair - Inspired By Designs of Charles & Ray Eames
One of their most innovative designs, the Eames scored a big hit with La Chaise. Its part sculpture, part chair, part conjuring trick – and a huge testament to the grand ideals of Charles and Ray.
Product Description
You can see how La Chaise was influenced by Dali’s Ruins in the Rain painting; the sinewy body of the chair is supported by five iron legs, but looks like its floating above its wooden base. That’s a great start, but what really makes this work is that it’s a wonderfully comfortable chair too. You really can’t have one without the other. And that leaves one last detail… where’s it going to go. Sitting room? Office? Or it’d look particularly fine in a large hall, or conservatory.
